John Marshall

Every golfer wants to hit the ball further, and Atlanta golf instructor and long drive competitor John Marshall helps them do it. He is a 2005 and 2006 American Long Drivers Association Super Senior National Championship and a five-time RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship finalist. He teaches a swing developed by legendary long driver Mike Austin whose 515 yard drive at the 1974 U.S. Senior Open is the longest recorded tee shot in the history of competitive golf. The swing is different from the conventional golf swing in that it utilizes additional levers to create more club head speed.

Mr. Marshall is certified by the United States Golf Teachers Federation, the Titleist Performance Institute and Impact Zone Golf and offers comprehensive instruction at Steel Canyon Golf Club in Sandy Springs.

He has been a volunteer instructor at the First Tee program since 2002 and was recently nominated as one of the top instructors in Georgia by Golf Digest magazine and as well as one of the country’s top junior instructors by U.S. Kids Golf. He is also an instructor for the Golf Channel’s Swing Fix program.

He serves on the Board of Directors of the Atlanta Junior Golf Association and Georgia State Golf Association. Additional information is available at www.jmlongdrive.com.

Stacy Bean

Stacy has been instructing golf since 2009. As a self-taught and avid player, Stacy became interested in instructing golf while working as a marketing director for a local PGA golf professional. Prior to that, Stacy had an extensive background coaching other youth sports, swimming, basketball and softball and felt her coaching skills would transfer well into coaching golf.

Under the tutelage of the same PGA professional, Stacy began teaching, focusing mainly on juniors. In 2014, Stacy started her own Swing and Course Management company. Over the last 8 years, her clientele has evolved into students of all ages and skill levels. While she enjoys teaching all clients, Stacy’s passion is developing juniors in all aspects of the game… swing technique, course management and mental preparedness.

In addition to private instruction, Stacy began working as the community golf coach for the St. Pius Girls Golf Team. After 7 years with the team, she has built a solid program which now competes at the highest levels within the GHSA. 2021 resulted in a record year, placing 2nd in area tournament, and 6th place in state tournament, the highest finish in school history. Stacy’s students have had success winning on various junior tours, Georgia Junior Golf, Peggy Kirk Bell, Hurricane, Notah Begay Southern States and USKids. Several have gone on to play golf at the collegiate level.

Stacy’s years of experience playing golf has given her the skills to not only instruct the technical aspects of the swing, but help implement them in the game. Coaching other youth sports has strengthened her ability to communicate the complexities of the swing in a simplified, understandable manner. This has been the instructional aspect her students like most. Her greatest asset is her passion, desire and dedication to seeing her students improve. Nothing is more rewarding to her than helping her students refine their swing, shoot their best score or win their club championship!
